To Niche or not to niche...
The last few months I’ve been rebuilding my website, my logo, & my focus. I’ve been trying to zone in on what I’m truly passionate about & decided to make some changes along the way. In the vast world of photography, finding your niche can be akin to discovering your own personal magic. It's about more than just snapping pictures; it's about honing your skills, developing your style, and delving into a specific realm where your passion truly shines.
Focusing on a niche in photography not only allows you to master your craft but also opens doors to endless creative possibilities. In a world inundated with images, standing out as a photographer can be challenging. However, by focusing on a niche, you're not just another photographer; you become an expert in your chosen field. In my case, an expert in all things newborn photography.
This is exactly what I want to do, master the art of maternity, newborn, & milestone photography. I want to be an expert in this field. The last few years I’ve learned so much, grown my portfolio, & really struggled with do I niche down or not. I truly love every shoot I do, & I hate telling people no but my goals, & dreams tell me it’s time to niche down. Zoning in on what I’m passionate about is necessary to accomplish my career goals & I feel it’s time.
What does this mean going forward? It means you’re only going to see Maternity, Newborn, & Milestone sessions highlighted, it means these sessions will get priority, & it means my session structure, pricing, experience is all changing. It certainly doesn’t mean I won’t take on anymore families or seniors (especially to my oh so loyal clients, who I have come to cherish dearly) it just means those will be scheduled when time allows & availability for them will be limited.
I realize change isn’t for everyone, but I choose to embrace it & hope you will with me.
Cheers to you if you’re still reading, & heres to going after goals in life!
Hope
