Monday's Moment

Happy Labor Day friends!

I hope you're getting a chance to just relax & enjoy the day with family or friends or even just yourself! 

Did you find a moment last week? A moment that brought you joy? What was it?! I'd love to hear!

I've got weddings on my mind today. Who doesn't smile when they see wedding pictures of their friends or family? What about when you look at your own?! C'mon now, there's joy there!

Since we moved away from Alaska we've had multiple friends get married & it's been such a bummer not being there to celebrate with them. I find myself waiting to see the pictures each time on Facebook & Instagram just so I can see a small glimpse of what their beautiful day was like. Each time the pictures show up I see such joy & feel so much joy for them! 

As a photographer I've come to realize while I love weddings, I hate photographing them! I can't really pinpoint the reason why, it's just not my cup of tea. I admire all of my fellow wedding photographers out there, you truly have a gift!

I can count on one hand the number of weddings I've done & I'm happy with that. I am thankful that while I was completely stressed, losing my mind, probably thirsty, hungry, & sweaty, & going over checklist after checklist of what photos were wanted, the end result turned out beautiful. The photos I have from the weddings I've done convey the beauty & joy the couple felt that day, & not the chaos I was going through thankfully! 

I think, and maybe you agree, the photos from those weddings captured the joy & that's all that matters. So today I want to say congratulations to Adrienne & Adrian who got married this weekend, we so wish we could've been there!
